A Life Coach helps clients gain self-awareness and confidence in their ability to identify their own strengths and desire for change, what that change looks like, and how to move forward with a clear and measurable plan. An effective Life Coach encourages clients through active and compassionate listening, offering insightful feedback, and teaching skills that foster happiness, contentment, and fulfillment in life. She knows which questions to ask and when it is appropriate to ask those questions. She is curious and honest in her self-examination and encourages her clients to develop these same qualities. She facilitates, guides, and offers support and techniques for her clients when they feel stuck and need help going from point A to point B in key areas of their life.
A Holistic Life Coach provides additional support by engaging clients in an integrative approach to human health and well-being, one that explores the whole person, not merely one aspect of the human experience. A Holistic Life Coach guides clients to identify needed support for each part of the individual equally: mental, emotional, physical, and spiritual. In this way, clients gain knowledge and skills that provide sustainable outcomes of balance, satisfaction, peace and calm, even amidst daily challenges. Holistic Life Coaches are not responsible to “fix” anyone but rather give guidance and support for clients to discover answers within themselves, through self-discovery of body, mind and spirit. Holistic Life Coaches are not therapists or counsellors, although some practical techniques and implementations may be similar.
